CS500: Ray tracing

Framework: C++ custom engine

In this class we were introduced to the basic techniques used in ray tracing: intersection calculations, illumination models, antialiasing, the underlying Physical and Mathematical underpinnings as well as the practical aspects of how to implement a ray tracer.

Ray-tracer:

We implemented a distributed raytracer applying the knowledge thought in class.
Local illumination, reflection and refraction, shadows (hard shadows and soft shadows using oversampling), adaptive antialiasing and attenuation.

Finally is another method as pixel differentiation is implemented over the usual way of raycasting.
